Opening .daa files without having to buy PowerISO

I have never been particularly interested in PowerISO, simply because there is no reason why you should have to pay for something which other apps can do for free. Once I recieved a .daa file, then, I got somewhat annoyed. Fortunately for me I stumbled upon a piece of software called 'DAA2ISO'. As the name would suggest, this takes a .daa file and converts it into an .iso, a file format free CD burning applications like CDBurnerXP can burn, and programs like Daemon Tools can mount from your HDD.

In CDBurnerXP, just select 'Create Data CD/DVD' when it loads, and then go File > Burn disc from ISO file.

With Daemon Tools, right click the icon in the system tray, select Virtual CD/DVD-ROM, and then select a device (choose Device 0 unless you have no reason not to). Then click 'Mount Image', and find that image on your HD. Once it is mounted, it will act just like a real burned CD.

Hi Chris, some useful info @ http://dotwhat.net/daa/5280/ too. As you say, the problem with this software is that it should be FREE like all the rest! Thanks for the tool
